Carbonate Phosphate Separation by Flotation
There is a shift in the pH required for maximum flotation separation efficiency from pH 3.5 for the highly dolomitic ore Sample I to pH 5 for the highly calcareous ore Sample III, i.e., as the carbonate impurityes predominantly calcitic. The optimum pH for carbonate removal in the froth can therefore be said to increase with increasing calcite content.
